WHERE TO GET Power Engineering TRAINING MATERIALS

New and used Reeds and other technical text books for Power Engineers, for Stationary Engineers, for Boiler Operators

Join us on Facebook at Power and Stationary Engineers

There are a number of educational institutions (Vocational Schools, Trades Schools & Technical Schools) in Canada & the US that you can acquire the P.E.T. or Stationary Engineering learning materials, including S.A.I.T. itself.

Although I did have all of these books for my studies, the four volumes that I used extensively were 2, 3, 8 and 9.  Check you educational institution's syllabus for recommendations.

Here you can select and buy the Reeds text books individually or you can CLICK on this link to choose from the complete list of Reeds Books.  It will be easier and faster for you that way.

Reeds Volume 1 one, Mathematics for Engineers, for Power Engineers, for Stationary Engineers, for Boiler Operators       Reed's Volume 2 two Applied Thermodynamices for Marine Engineers, Power Engineer, Stationary Engineers, for Boiler Operators       Reeds Volume 3 three, Applied Thermodynamics for Marine Engineers, for Power Engineers, for Stationary Engineers, for Boiler Operators      Reed's Volume 3 three Applied Heat for Engineers, for Power Engineers, for Stationary Engineers, for Boiler Operators      Reeds Volume 6 Six. Basic Electrotechnology for Marine Engineers, for Power Engineers, for Stationary Engineers, for Boiler Operators   Reeds Volume 7 Seven Advanced Electrotechnology for Marine Engineers, for Power Engineers, for Stationary Engineers, for Boiler Operators
Reed's Volume 8 eight General Engineering Knowledge for Marine Engineers, for Power Engineers, for Stationary Engineers, for Boiler Operators       Reed's Volume 9 nine Steam Engineering Knowledge for Marnie Engineers, for Power Engineers, for Stationary Engineers, for Boiler Operators  Reeds Volume 10, ten, Marine Engineering Instrumentation and Control volume 10 for Marine Engineers, for Power Engineers, for Stationary Engineers, for Boiler Operators    Reeds Volume 11, Eleven. Engineer Drawing for Marine Engineers, for Power Engineers, for Stationary Engineers, for Boiler Operators   Reeds Volume 12. Motor Engineering Knowledge for Marine Engineers, for Power Engineers, for Stationary Engineers, for Boiler Operators

Now we have the "Other text Books" that were recommended in my syllabus that may be recommended in your syllabus too.  For these it is much easier to select or CLICK on them individually from this website to direct you to the specific text book.  That is because they are all from different publishers.  This way you can check pricing for new and used and make a purchase.  Big time and money saver.

Power Engineering Training Systems is the new business entity that provides in class and distance learning materials for Canada, the U.S.of A. as well as around the world.  please visit their web site at the following address
Pan Global

For the United States it is best to go to US Labor Agencies (Click here to go to a list of US Labor Agencies) and ask where to access the educational materials.  It will vary from state to state and can change through the years.

The best approach is to go through the U.S. training and apprenticeship section of this site to acquire the information you need to get the training materials you want.

The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology [S.A.I.T.] is your main contact in Canada and internationally for those who wish to deal directly.  You can go to go to the Canadian training and apprenticeship section or call or write Pan Global.

S.A.I.T. is one of the leading North American authorities and has been in operation since 1916. It has over 5000 students enrolled at any given point. The majority are located in North America but some are located in places like THE UNITED ARAB EMIRENCE, SAUDI ARABIA, HONG KONG, BERMUDA, MALAYSIA, BELIZE, BARBADOS, AUSTRALIA, PERU, JAMAICA AND CHILE.  They are one of the ones responsible for putting this stuff on the map and standardizing the education process.

S.A.I.T. offers customized technical in class training for industry as well as standardized courses of study in the following:

- BASIC BUILDING OPERATION

- BOILER FIREMAN

- BUILDING SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN

- GAS PROCESS OPERATIONS

- INDUSTRIAL INSTRUMENTATION

- LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS SERVICE TRAINING

- NATURAL GAS PLANT OPERATIONS

- OPERATIONS OF LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS TRANSPORT VEHICLES

- PLANT ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT

- P.E.T.  - FIFTH CLASS

- P.E.T. - FOURTH CLASS

- P.E.T. - THIRD CLASS

- P.E.T. - SECOND CLASS

- P.E.T. - FIRST CLASS

- PRINCIPLES OF MATHEMATICS

They have and offer the best of everything.

Here is are photos of all the books I have used from my fourth class to my second class.  That is to say, if you are considering getting your third class certification (which is a minimum for most forms of employment in this field), you will want have the text books recommended by your school in combination with the individual lessons for each ticket.  I have used them for my fourth, all the way up to and including my second class certification.  If I was studying for my first I'd probably need a few extra ones.

You can buy these from some guy's basement in Saint Albert, Alberta, Canada of you can get them online and delivered to your door via Amazon.  Just click on the book to quickly order the book.  I highly recommend you check to see what is required for you course text books.  I used these quite regularly.  The others in the photos were all recommended reading when I went to NAIT.  I didn't photograph the code books as they require updates.

These ones in the photos were my books for sale.  I sold them on Facebook dirt cheap.  The beauty of that was is thirty five years after buying them, they still have good monitory value.  These went in a box for $400.  Their retail value at that time was over $1470.00 {Amazon average used and new retail values.}  I bought them for less than $1000 new.  You can recover some of your expenses when you retire.  I see it as an investment that paid off very handsomely.

Look in the yellow pages of your telephone directory or perform an Internet search for your local technical institutions that may offer this material. If you have no luck at this strategy call S.A.I.T. directly or Pan Global for course materials. They may be able to give the name and address of the closest educational institution offering their training materials or simply provide materials directly to you.  They may also provide information on a local institution providing in class training.

There are opportunities for foreign students to attend full time classes at S.A.I.T. at a reasonable cost. In most cases costing much less than a college education in the U.S. The cost of taking the time and spending the money are out weighed by the benefits, weather it be in class or via correspondence studies.
